WWW Page Management

Web page creation, uploading and maintenance

EWG will prepare, upload and maintain simple but effective WWW pages for organisations that do not want to be bothered with the technicalities. Pages are designed so as to be readable with the most basic of browsers. They will win no accolades from graphic designers, but will fulfil the reader's needs for information.

Because customers' pages are prepared by an experienced technical salesman, marketing and selling considerations dominate, ensuring maximum effectiveness. The results are properly measured using a custom software codetermine the access patterns, These are far more revealing than the usual crude and misleading 'hit count', which gives an exaggerated picture because such counts include graphics files included in the pages.

Principles employed in page design

  A non-proprietary set of HTML tags (level 4 transitional) are used. These tags are inserted by an editor that applies HTML rules very strictly.
  Benefit -Reliable display by all browsers,including obsolete versions.
  
• Economy
  All files - especially graphics - are optimised for relevance and minimum size consistent with conveying the required information.
  Benefit - Quickest possible download, especially over congested lines and during busy periods.
  
• Coherence
  Each file and every element within the file must contribute directly towards the purpose of the site. The purpose of the site and the benefits to be brought to the reader are defined in writing in advance.
